Our verdict
CyberGhost is good for streaming and has the longest money-back guarantee of the VPNs we compare. It was slower than most in speed tests and scores lower on privacy and travel.
Speed
CyberGhost kept about 81% of the normal speed on nearby servers in 2026 tests, but only 41 to 44% on long-distance servers.
Streaming
All the Netflix countries tested worked in 2026, as did Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. BBC iPlayer worked after switching servers a few times.
Privacy and security
CyberGhost is based in Romania and owned by Kape. Its no-logs policy was audited by an independent auditing firm in 2024 and 2025, but it keeps some aggregated connection data. A small data leak in 2019 exposed a handful of user emails, and the owner previously ran an adware business.
Travel
CyberGhost has servers in 100 countries but no obfuscation, and it is not reliable in China.
Torrenting
P2P is allowed on dedicated servers. The kill switch passed desktop tests, but was weaker after a Mac woke from sleep. We found no port forwarding.
Price and plans
CyberGhost starts at $2.19 a month on the two-year plan and covers 7 devices. Long plans come with a 45-day money-back guarantee, and the monthly plan with 14 days. There is no free plan.
